Would Heroes Lucky Number be.......24?

Sorry we have not posted here in awhile, but I have been busy with life.

Not not busy enough to give NBC a solution to its problem of how to save Heroes.



As a matter of fact, they may already be working on that solution as we speak...they just may not know it yet.



First, an update. The Heroes machine continues apace. The latest online bit is Hiro (through Yamaguchi) delving into the early years of The Company. One would assume that Samuel is twittering in jail considering that @Sullivan_Bros continues to tweet.



A few weeks ago, a drive spearheaded by the person connected with the Twitter account @weloveheroes managed to get the topic #Heroes100 trending on that site. #Heroes100 means a request to NBC to put 100 episodes in the can for syndication (though soon to be NBC-stablemate-via-Comcast G4 have those rights already). It even got a high-five tweet from Greg Grunberg



The best news is that the Hollywood Reporter claims an inside tip-off that NBC was 60% set in renewal.



But 60% is not 100%. Plus, NBC is doing much better now that Mr. Leno is back at 11:35 E/P (and so is Leno, by the way...sorry TeamCoCo).



So the question really is, what scenario would NBC accept to keep out specials on the air.



Then THIS comes up:

24 may live to see another day after all.

Multiple sources confirm to me exclusively that 20th Century Fox has approached NBC about picking up the series should Fox opt to cancel it — and the Peacock is considering it. “There’s definitely some interest,” says an insider close to the talks.

Earlier this week, reports surfaced that 20th (a.k.a. the studio) and Fox (a.k.a. the network) are nearing a mutual decision to end the serial thriller after eight seasons due to declining ratings and rising costs.

A move to NBC — while still considered somewhat of a long shot given the hefty price tag — would likely delay 20th’s plans to launch a Jack Bauer film franchise. From a production standpoint, 24 execs have long maintained that it would next to impossible to make a movie while the series was still on the air.

Reps for 20th and NBC declined to comment.

So what does this mean for Heroes....follow.



First, under My scenario, Heroes would return, but NOT until after the NFL Season. This would give NBC and Tim Kring a chance to craft about 20 episodes that could defiantly end the series and move IT into a film franchise...or keep it open for another season. (plus, With Rasamurthy gone, NoMoHinder!).



Now the Grand plan: Pair Heroes on SUNDAY NIGHTS.......with 24!



Here's how it would work-



Feb 13, 2011....A Two hour 24 premiere that would go from 9-11. E/P, Following a one hour "Celebrity Apprentice" Preview special Then for 4 days after, a 24 marathon of new show Mon-Thur.



Feb 20, 2011...Heroes would premiere with a 2 hour special starting at 8pm-10, with 24 settling in on its new time of 10-11



Feb 27, 2011...The new Sunday Line up would be in place:



7-8: Dateline NBC or a Countdown Weekly with Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow hour


8-9: Celebrity Apprentice


9-10: Heroes


10-11: 24



This would continue until the end of May when everything would be wrapped up.



You can even start things off with a 4 part Cliff-Hanger for Heroes in November.



The promotion possibilities are endless: Imagine, for instance, Noah Bennett and Jack Bauer in the same promo.



Plus, it would give Heroes what it has needed for the last two years. A strong lead-in that can filter the audience down Heroes and 24.



And, lets take into consideration that, assuming things stay the way they are, NBC;s main competition would be the aging lineups at ABC and CBS.



If NBC works it right, it could look like a masterstroke.



Or just a dumb idea from some blogger in California.

Meanwhile....over at Jack's?

Remember when 24 was THE show to watch? THE watercooler topic on Tuesdays? THE coolest show on TV??

That's what a cheerleader can do to ya.

That and bad writing, bad plotting, bad you name it. If you are a 24-natic, this season must be a particular dissapointment to you because the confrontation between your faborite and Heroes was hyped as the TV match up of the century so far.

So how does it feel to be beaten not only by that bunch of heroic upstarts.......but by a bunch of has-beens and never-wuzzes who can't dance thier way out of a bag made of tissue paper?

Let's say that you did it to yourselves by not being what you used to be....creative, suspenseful, or even witty. And save for the two evenings when Jean Smart stopped by to remind everyone why she is the post-Lucy Queen of Monday Night Television, name one memorable set. One.

Anyway, last night was the finale, and according to TVWP, it went like this:

Day 6: 4:00 AM - 5:00 AM

With Josh in Doyle's
custody and Kiefer under arrest, it falls to Karen Hayes of all people to find a
way derail the exchange with Kiefer's Dad for the Russians' circuit board.
Behind the Veep's back, she's bold enough to call for help to the husband she
fired a few hours ago. Doyle and Josh wait alone at a drop point on the beach
with no satellite coverage while the whole operation threatens to go completely
pear-shaped; Marilyn's going batshit at CTU, Chloe is complaining about the
ethics of a trade that hardly anyone thinks is going to be honored by Dad
anyway, Buchanan has helped Kiefer escape, and even Doyle is having his doubts.
Karen gets busted, arrested, and chewed out by the Veep, and Milo's much
better-looking brother shows up to pick up his brother's stuff and tell Nadia
that Milo was in love with her, in case anyone still cares.

And just in case you still haven't picked up on the important lesson
that Not Listening To Kiefer Will Blow Up In Your Face, Dad's men show up at the
drop point with a fake component that literally blows up in Doyle's face. While
he writhes blinded on the sand, Dad's men whisk Josh away in an inflatable boat
before Kiefer can stop them. As everyone belatedly realizes once again that
Kiefer Was Right All Along (even the Veep, who has finally figured out that
maybe he isn't so smart after all), Kiefer figures out that Josh is being taken
to one of his father's offshore oil rigs. But before Chloe can figure out which
one it is, she abruptly collapses on the CTU floor. And yes, it is what you
think.

Day 6: 5:00 AM - 6:00 AM

CTU quickly figures
out which oil platform Josh has been taken to, and the Veep is just as quick to
order an air strike that will not only destroy the component but kill everyone
on board. You know Kiefer's not going to be down with that. Fortunately,
Buchanan knows how to fly a helicopter, so the two of them steal a CTU chopper
and head out to rescue Josh before the missiles hit. Kiefer not only shoots all
the bad guys, he also captures Cheng alive and catches up with Josh just in time
to prevent him from killing the grandfather he's already wounded. Realizing
there's no way he can get his father off the rig in time to save him and make
him pay for his crimes, Kiefer abandons Dad (and the component) to his fate,
leaping off the platform and onto the rope ladder Buchanan's dangling in front
of him just before the platform explodes underneath him. Instead of hitching a
ride back to CTU, Kiefer lets go just above the surf line, swims to shore, and
waves Buchanan off.

So, to wrap up the other story lines, Russian President Suvarov is
satisfied with the component's destruction and calls off the attack on the U.S.
base in Centralasia. Tom convinces the Veep to cut Karen some slack for being
right, and surrenders the recording from earlier. Buchanan flies Cheng back to
CTU, where Cheng gets off an excellent line. Marilyn and Josh reunite, without
any revelations about Josh's paternity coming to light. And Chloe's pregnant.
Try to look surprised. No, I said "surprised." Try again.

So what happens to Kiefer? Well, conveniently enough, the spot where he
dropped from the helicopter is within walking distance of Heller's beach house.
Completely off his meds by now, Kiefer goes to confront his former boss at
gunpoint, angrily blaming him for not doing more to get Kiefer out of China and
demanding his life back -- in the form of Audrey. But as soon as Kiefer sees
Audrey in the hospital suite that her dad has already set up for her in her
bedroom, he realizes that Heller's right, and he can only keep Audrey safe by
staying away. He breaks up with her sleeping form, then walks out onto Heller's
back balcony to stare sadly down the cliff into the sea, and then into the
lightening sky. Downer, dude

.

THAT'S IT???? The best you can do is a knocked up Chloe and Jack Bauer lovelorn again??? This is your ending??????? Hell, there were complaints about Heroes' ending, but at least they gave us something.

Guys, here's an idea. Give Jack a day off.....at least until you come up with something worthy of what used to be the baddest hour on TV. This season jumped so many sharks, its pathetic. And one more day like this one, then day will turn into night for you guys real quick.

Overnight Ratings: Heroes Returns, Holds Up Against 24

NBC's Heroes maintained its superpower status Monday night, airing its first original episode since Dec. 4, this time against Fox's stalwart 24.

Heroes scored with a 6.5 rating/15 share in the key 18-49 demo, according to Nielsen overnights; the numbers were identical to Dec. 4. The show helped NBC to No. 1 for the night (5.0/12).

The Peacock's Studio 60 also returned for a seven-week run. It earned a 3.2/8 in the demo, up a bit from its last original episode, which also aired Dec. 4 and earned a 3.0/8.

24 was down a bit from last week, when its sixth-season premiere aired over four hours on two nights. Jan. 14's two hours scored a 6.0/13 and Jan. 15's a 5.9/13. Monday night's numbers were a 5.4/12. Fox was No. 2 for the night with a 4.8/11.

CBS was third with a 4.6/11 for its comedy lineup and CSI: Miami, its highest-rated show at a 6.0/15.

ABC came in fourth place with a 3.2/8 for Wife Swap, Supernanny and What About Brian (continuing to perform poorly in the 10-11 slot, earning just a 2.4/6 against CSI and Studio 60).

The CW earned a 1.1/3 for its comedy lineup. No numbers were available for MyNetworkTV's novellas, Wicked WIcked Games and Watch Over Me,

Some thoughst about Godsend

First, WE DID IT! It was the impossible task, but the Heroes were up to the challenge of both Jack Bauer and the 2 and a half.

Heroes vs 24: Tonight's Showdown

PASADENA, Calif. - "Are you on the list?" the new Heroes promos ask.

The show is certainly on the Nielsen hit list, helping NBC pull out of a ratings nosedive when the peacock needs a hero most. Here's what viewers can expect to see in the coming months:

•More competition: Heroes returns with new episodes today at 9, facing off
for the first time against Fox powerhouse 24.
"I would be lying if I said I
wasn't worried that we weren't going to take a little hit from them," said
Heroes creator Tim Kring. "It's disappointing for any viewer who feels like they
want to watch both shows. They're facing a dilemma."

•More Sylar: Though the villainous, brain-desiring character played by
Zach Quinto was intended to appear only in the first season, it sounds like his
stay will be extended.
"I've really fallen for Zach Quinto, and I just think
the character is so much fun," Kring said. "I just like the idea of him being
around for a while. ... The original thinking was he would last the arc of the
season and with the finale we'd find a way to defeat him. But great villains run
away and live to fight another day. That's a classic motif."
The show's
writers are tossing around ideas for how to show Sylar absorbing the heroes'
powers, and so far the thinking is that he does eat at least a portion of their
brains.

•H.R.G. is fluent in Japanese: Claire's father, also known as Horn
Rimmed Glasses (Jack Coleman), has a scene with Hiro's father, played by George
Takei (Sulu of Star Trek fame).
"All my scenes are in Japanese and I did a
scene with Jack Coleman - you take it from there," Takei said at an NBC party
Wednesday night. "He memorized all his lines phonetically."

•An invisible hero: Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who) joins the cast
Monday as the invisible Claude, a tribute to Invisible Man actor Claude Raines.

"His character acts as a sort of mentor for Peter, who is having
trouble controlling all of this crazy power he seems to have," Kring said.
"Peter runs into this character, literally, and forces him basically to teach
him what's going on. It's the first indication for the audience that these
powers have been around longer than we've sensed, based on what we've seen so
far."

•Less ambiguity than Lost: "We're not going to have the frustration
level of having to wait several episodes before things actually happen," Kring
promised. An attempt to keep fans happy has also been part of the scheduling:
The show ran nonstop through early December, took a break, and returns for a pod
of original episodes through February. Then it will break again and return in
April to run through May sweeps.

•A May cliffhanger: The 23-episode first season will end in May with a
one-hour episode that includes a cliffhanger.

"We will wrap up the story of the prophecy of this apocalyptic event,"
Kring said. "I don't think it's any shock that we will somehow save the world."
