Meanwhile....over at Jack's?

Remember when 24 was THE show to watch? THE watercooler topic on Tuesdays? THE coolest show on TV??

That's what a cheerleader can do to ya.

That and bad writing, bad plotting, bad you name it. If you are a 24-natic, this season must be a particular dissapointment to you because the confrontation between your faborite and Heroes was hyped as the TV match up of the century so far.

So how does it feel to be beaten not only by that bunch of heroic upstarts.......but by a bunch of has-beens and never-wuzzes who can't dance thier way out of a bag made of tissue paper?

Let's say that you did it to yourselves by not being what you used to be....creative, suspenseful, or even witty. And save for the two evenings when Jean Smart stopped by to remind everyone why she is the post-Lucy Queen of Monday Night Television, name one memorable set. One.

Anyway, last night was the finale, and according to TVWP, it went like this:

Day 6: 4:00 AM - 5:00 AM
By
M. Giant
Season 6 Episode 23 Aired on 2007.05.21

With Josh in Doyle's
custody and Kiefer under arrest, it falls to Karen Hayes of all people to find a
way derail the exchange with Kiefer's Dad for the Russians' circuit board.
Behind the Veep's back, she's bold enough to call for help to the husband she
fired a few hours ago. Doyle and Josh wait alone at a drop point on the beach
with no satellite coverage while the whole operation threatens to go completely
pear-shaped; Marilyn's going batshit at CTU, Chloe is complaining about the
ethics of a trade that hardly anyone thinks is going to be honored by Dad
anyway, Buchanan has helped Kiefer escape, and even Doyle is having his doubts.
Karen gets busted, arrested, and chewed out by the Veep, and Milo's much
better-looking brother shows up to pick up his brother's stuff and tell Nadia
that Milo was in love with her, in case anyone still cares.

And just in case you still haven't picked up on the important lesson
that Not Listening To Kiefer Will Blow Up In Your Face, Dad's men show up at the
drop point with a fake component that literally blows up in Doyle's face. While
he writhes blinded on the sand, Dad's men whisk Josh away in an inflatable boat
before Kiefer can stop them. As everyone belatedly realizes once again that
Kiefer Was Right All Along (even the Veep, who has finally figured out that
maybe he isn't so smart after all), Kiefer figures out that Josh is being taken
to one of his father's offshore oil rigs. But before Chloe can figure out which
one it is, she abruptly collapses on the CTU floor. And yes, it is what you
think.

Day 6: 5:00 AM - 6:00 AM

Season 6 Episode 24 Aired on 2007.05.21

CTU quickly figures
out which oil platform Josh has been taken to, and the Veep is just as quick to
order an air strike that will not only destroy the component but kill everyone
on board. You know Kiefer's not going to be down with that. Fortunately,
Buchanan knows how to fly a helicopter, so the two of them steal a CTU chopper
and head out to rescue Josh before the missiles hit. Kiefer not only shoots all
the bad guys, he also captures Cheng alive and catches up with Josh just in time
to prevent him from killing the grandfather he's already wounded. Realizing
there's no way he can get his father off the rig in time to save him and make
him pay for his crimes, Kiefer abandons Dad (and the component) to his fate,
leaping off the platform and onto the rope ladder Buchanan's dangling in front
of him just before the platform explodes underneath him. Instead of hitching a
ride back to CTU, Kiefer lets go just above the surf line, swims to shore, and
waves Buchanan off.

So, to wrap up the other story lines, Russian President Suvarov is
satisfied with the component's destruction and calls off the attack on the U.S.
base in Centralasia. Tom convinces the Veep to cut Karen some slack for being
right, and surrenders the recording from earlier. Buchanan flies Cheng back to
CTU, where Cheng gets off an excellent line. Marilyn and Josh reunite, without
any revelations about Josh's paternity coming to light. And Chloe's pregnant.
Try to look surprised. No, I said "surprised." Try again.

So what happens to Kiefer? Well, conveniently enough, the spot where he
dropped from the helicopter is within walking distance of Heller's beach house.
Completely off his meds by now, Kiefer goes to confront his former boss at
gunpoint, angrily blaming him for not doing more to get Kiefer out of China and
demanding his life back -- in the form of Audrey. But as soon as Kiefer sees
Audrey in the hospital suite that her dad has already set up for her in her
bedroom, he realizes that Heller's right, and he can only keep Audrey safe by
staying away. He breaks up with her sleeping form, then walks out onto Heller's
back balcony to stare sadly down the cliff into the sea, and then into the
lightening sky. Downer, dude
.

THAT'S IT???? The best you can do is a knocked up Chloe and Jack Bauer lovelorn again??? This is your ending??????? Hell, there were complaints about Heroes' ending, but at least they gave us something.

Guys, here's an idea. Give Jack a day off.....at least until you come up with something worthy of what used to be the baddest hour on TV. This season jumped so many sharks, its pathetic. And one more day like this one, then day will turn into night for you guys real quick.

Final Fast Ratings: Heroes Scores, but ABC Wins

The final performances of "Dancing with the Stars" and the final rose on "The Bachelor" gave ABC a ratings win Monday night.

ABC averaged a 10.2 rating/17 share in primetime, outpacing the other networks by a healthy margin. CBS finished second in households at 7.1/11, but NBC, 6.7/11, had a small edge in viewers (10.7 million to 10.6 million). FOX, 6.1/10, was fourth, and The CW trailed with a 1.3/2.

The Alphabet also grabbed a win among adults 18-49, earning a 4.9 rating in the advertisers' favorite demographic. NBC took second with a 4.1, beating FOX's 3.8 and CBS' 3.3. The CW managed only a 0.7.

"Dancing with the Stars" drew the night's biggest audience, 13.1/22, for ABC at 8 p.m. "Deal or No Deal," 6.3/10, put NBC in second. The first half of the "24" season finale earned a 5.7/9 for FOX. A pair of "Two and a Half Men" repeats came in fourth for CBS. The CW averaged 1.3/2 with reruns of "Everybody Hates Chris" and "All of Us."

ABC held onto the lead in households at 9 p.m. with "The Bachelor," 8.5/13, while another hour of CBS' "Men" scored an 8.1/12. NBC's "Heroes" season finale (7.8/12), however, led the hour in total viewers and adults 18-49(aka the MONEY demo!). FOX improved to 6.6/10 with the conclusion of "24." Repeats of "Girlfriends" and "The Game" closed the night for The CW.

At 10 p.m., "The Bachelor" surged to 9.0/15 as Andy Baldwin proposed to his chosen woman Tessa. A "CSI: Miami" rerun posted a 7.6/12 for CBS, and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" came in at 6.1/10 for NBC.

Gabcast! polyblog #16 - Recap: How to stop an Exploding man

A recap with comments and additional info and rants connected to the final episode of Heroes Chapter 1

MY GOD!

Well, its is just a few minutes after the east coast showing of the Season Finale. And they closed down the board. Or at least that's what I think that IPS Error Message was.

Anyway, this is what I may have gleaned from what happened.

We finally found what HRG's first name is.......Noah.

They did NOT kill Niki or Jess, thought Jess may be gone from vacation. They also did not kill Candace, though Niki gave a Jessica-esque butt-whuppin' to our illusionist. She will be back..more bitter....but now we love her.

Micah and Molly sitting in a tree.

Matt's got 5 bullets in him. Grunberg, I got two words for ya......Larry Hagman.

Mrs. Petrelli is Angela Landsbury.

Claire could not kill Peter to stop the bomb, but NATHAN swooped in and saved the day...but they may have killed each other.

Simone is back.......and so is Shaft-daddy.

And Hiro has teleported back to 1670-something.

The full recap tommorrow at http://heroesfirst.blogspot.com.

Yatta, y'all!

I knew it....she was a hero after all.

The baddest b!tch on television had a soft side.
For the last year I have been trying, to almost no avail, to convince the planet that Jessica was not THAT evil, that she was truly a hero who was just very expedient.
Last night she earned her hero stripes.
The banker......errrrr......Linderman offered her practically all the money she stole. She wanted it, but realized it wasn't what her sister wanted. And by switching Niki back, she showed that all that she had done all season was not for Jessica, but for her sister.
DL earned his stripes too, by taking the bullet meant for our dynamic duo in one. Then, before collapsing, phased a fist into Lindy, qualifiying Mr. McDowell for unemployment benefits.
And yes, that pic is from next week. Seems DL survived his wounds, and now has not only Micah, but Molly in tow (let the shipping begin!)
We also found out that the second baddest b!itch on TV, Candace Wilmer had some serious body image issues that have more or less soured her on the human race. Judging by some of the more sophmoric post in 9th Wonders, I can imagine why she feels that way. Good drama has a way of revealing ourselves, and sometimes not in the way we imagine. We also found that Candace was as evil as we thought and that she and Micah have become sorta buddies. (and besides, assuming that the opponent may have been Republican, what goes around comes around, eh?)
Oh, and don't forget Linderman. He showed he was not that evil too when he healed Heidi, Nathan's wife. Nice thing to do on your way out.
This, and other things, set us up for the Big Finish next week. After all this buildup, it had better be good!

Landslide: Recap

Synopsis

Claire and Mr. Bennet's reunion is cut short by Peter who has reached a dangerous instability after absorbing Ted's ability. Peter tells Claire to be prepared for what she must do to stop him, but just as Claire draws the gun from her bag, Peter gains control over his new ability and prevents himself from exploding.

As a dejected Hiro mourns his own lack of conviction and his broken sword, Ando continues to try and restore Hiro's spirits. Ando searches the Yellow Pages for a repairman for the sword. Hiro teases Ando about who he expects to find in the directory to mend a centuries-old relic, but Ando chances upon a sword-smith advertising with the symbol. With new-found hope, the pair set off across the city to the shop of the mysterious sword-smith.

Back on the street, Mr. Bennet and Claire finally get a chance to catch up. Mr. Bennet is surprised to discover the relationship between Peter and Claire. As Peter convinces Ted that the two of them need to leave New York City before either causes the explosion, Mr. Bennet and Parkman continue their search for the tracking system. Claire, believing that it may be her destiny, decide to accompany Peter and Ted. Around the corner, however, is an unexpected eavesdropper with superhuman hearing: Sylar, who learns of Peter's plans to leave the city, and sees an opportunity to further his own agenda.

As Nathan worries about his trailing poll numbers, he also struggles with what he is being asked to do by Linderman. Linderman reveals to Nathan that Nathan's father was also an evolved human. Linderman attempts to consolidate Nathan's conviction by imparting a surprising gift: he heals Heidi and cures her lower limb paralysis.

As Peter, Ted and Claire walk the streets of New York on their way out of the city, Peter hears Sylar's thought, and realizes that that they are being tailed and that Sylar has learned of Ted's powers. But before they can formulate a plan on what to do, FBI agents, led by Audrey Hanson, arrive on scene and arrest Ted. Peter grabs Claire and makes them both disappear, and Audrey thanks Sylar, who poses as Isaac Mendez, for the tip about Ted.

As Hiro and Ando race across the city, Hiro runs into Nathan. Hiro tells Nathan that in the future, Nathan is a villain. Hiro, convinced that the present Nathan is still a good man, tries to tell Nathan that he must help them try stop the bomb. Nathan disappoints Hiro, and Hiro realizes that Nathan is already on his dark path.

Undeterred, Hiro and Ando continue to Jittetsu Arms, the shop of the sword-smith. There they meet Mr. Claremont, who is amazed by Hiro's possession of the centuries-old sword Kensei sword. Hiro asks if the sword can be repaired, and the repairman replies that it depends on the decision of a third party who is also in the shop: Hiro's father, who steps out from the backroom of the shop. Hiro's father asks for a private word with his son, but Ando is wary that Mr. Nakamura may be trying to convince Hiro to return home to Japan. Hiro tells Ando that he must hear what his father has to say out of respect, but Ando is unconvinced.

Up in the Company facility off Kirby Plaza, Candice still holds Micah prisoner. When Candice gives Micah some comics, including a scarce copy of Silver Surfer #1, he admits she seems like a nice person. Micah asks why Candice doesn't use her powers to become a hero, but a jaded Candice dismisses Micah's youthful innocence. Mr. Linderman arrives and asks for Micah's help. He tells Micah he will ensure that Micah's family will be able to live happily ever after if Micah will help him "talk to machines".

Back in the repair shop backroom, Hiro goes on to learn that his father had known of his powers all along, but had never been convinced that Hiro would have the right spirit to wield his abilities. Having observed Hiro's progress, Hiro's father is now convinced that Hiro is of true Nakamura descent. Hiro reveals to his father that he may be wrong about him, recounting his failure to kill Sylar when he had the opportunity. But Hiro's father is not so easily disappointed, and reveals himself to be a master swordsman. He tells Hiro that he will teach him the ways of the sword, and surprisingly turns Hiro into an able swordsman in only a short time. With renewed conviction of his abilities and of the steadfastness he must have as a true warrior, Hiro sets off to defeat Sylar, only to find that Ando had already left the shop. Ando, believing that Hiro would be unable to continue his mission to kill Sylar, bought a sword from Mr. Claremont and left to hunt down Sylar himself. Hiro's father tells Hiro that should Ando try to face off with Sylar, Ando will die.

Back amidst the frenzy of election day, Candice takes Micah to a polling place. She disguises herself as a voter and introduces Micah to a poll worker as her son. In the voting booth, she asks Micah to alter the votes electronically to give Nathan Petrelli a landslide victory. Micah completes his tasks and, exhausted, asks if he can finally go home.

D.L. and Jessica track down Nathan in his office. Jessica confronts Nathan about not killing Mr. Linderman when he had the chance. The pair tells Nathan the Mr. Linderman will only seek to use Nathan as a puppet, and offer to kill Mr. Linderman when Nathan couldn't. Nathan eventually agrees to tell them where Mr. Linderman is, so long as they make sure that they finish the job.

Mr. Bennet and Matt find the building housing the tracking system, and attempt to find a way to the top levels of the building. Encountering some difficulties despite Matt's use of his ability to get past the gate security, they meet D.L. and Jessica, who have also arrived in the buildings. Knowing they have common objectives in the same building, Mr. Bennet convinces D.L. to use his abilities to get them all through the security doors.

Mr. Bennet and Matt reach the level housing the tracking system, but unknown to them, they are being watch on the security monitors by Thompson, who awaits to ambush them. Matt reads Thompson's mind and uncovers the ambush, saving Mr. Bennet's life. Mr. Bennet returns the favor by killing Thompson with fervor. Having taken care of Thompson, they proceed to the room housing the tracking device, and discovers that it is Molly Walker. Even having known all along that the tracking device was in fact a person, Mr. Bennet is surprised to learn that it is a mere child. Matt is livid, unable to comprehend that they are possibly needing to kill a child. In his state of surprise, he is knocked unconscious by Mohinder, who enters into a stalemate with Mr. Bennet: Mohinder's gun on Bennet, Bennet's gun on Molly.

As night settles, Ted is being escorted out of the city in an armed police van. Sylar awaits the van and flips the van and opens the doors to find an upside-down Ted held in position by his restraints. Ted screams that he is hurt, and Sylar offers to help him.

At Linderman's office, D.L. and Jessica suprise the millionaire. Linderman reveals that he had arranged for D.L. and Niki's meeting since the beginning, and had been watching them their whole life. Offering money to Jessica to kill D.L. instead, Jessica realizes that this is not what her other half wants, and returns Niki to reunite with D.L. Fed up with the affectionate reunion and disappointed with Jessica's lack of ruthlessness, Linderman pulls a gun to kill Niki, but D.L. jumps and takes a bullet intended for his wife. As Linderman moves onwards to kill Niki, D.L. sneaks around and phases his fist inside Linderman's skull, killing Linderman. Niki collapses to her feet, holding a dying D.L. in her arms.

Nathan wins the election and in his official victory address, delivers a poignant speech; "they call it a landslide", he proudly announces.

Audrey arrives on the crime scene of the flipped van, and Ted's dead body is in it. The scene causes Peter and Claire to get stuck in traffic, so they get out of the car and walk up to police boundary of the scene. The three, separately, realize Sylar has stuck again. Peter realizes that the explosion is Sylar, not himself. Claire tells Peter he has to stop Sylar, but Peter doubts his ability due to their previous encounter.

On a rooftop overseeing New York, Sylar, testing his newly acquired ability, mutters to himself "boom".

BIg Azz Spoilers

From www.spoilerfix.com:

Entertainment Weekly went to the set during the shooting of the final three episodes. Their article reveals: Here's Hayden Panettiere, waving away offers of a stunt double as she runs and vaults through a fake window — the front end of a stunt that will send her indestructible cheerleader Claire out of a skyscraper and leave her splattered on the sidewalk. Here are Ali Larter (the schizoid superwoman Niki/Jessica) and Leonard Roberts (the walk-through-walls ex-con D.L.) flooded with emotion over being repeatedly manipulated by an underworld puppet master, Mr. Linderman (Malcolm McDowell). And here's the behind-the-scenes ringleader of this fantastic flying circus, Heroes creator Tim Kring, sauntering onto the set just minutes after writing the final sentence of the season's final episode, in which the show's sprawling, far-flung cast of next-gen X-Men will finally come together Super Friends-style in an attempt to save New York from being torched by a human A-bomb. [...] The finale — right down to its eye-popping last scene — sets the stage for a second season designed to expand the show's creative horizons and commercial potential even further. [...] "I thought I was signing up for a show called Heroes," says Adrian Pasdar, whose morally shaky politico Nathan Petrelli will make a choice in the finale that will affect the destinies of every character on the show. "I didn't know I was going to wind up on Survivor." [...] Kring admits he and his staff "struggled" with Larter's story line but insists "we're going to earn back a lot of goodwill when you see how she's connected to everything." Lessons have been learned, adjustments are being made. Next season, instead of one epic yarn stretched across an entire year, there are likely to be two tighter sagas, or "volumes" in the Heroes parlance. There will be more episodes that burrow deep into a single character — outings like "Company Man." [...] This is the present — a subterranean parking garage, where the Heroes gang is shooting some walk-and-talk that will address a key point in the final episode: Will Claire get sucked into the crazy-corrupt whirlpool that is her newly discovered kin, the Petrelli clan? "I get the sense there will be a lot of objects flying around," hints Quinto [about the finale], who won't comment on rumors that his breakout bad guy will indeed return next season. However, Sylar's Freudian-fraught fight with his mother does ignite the finale's apocalyptic endgame and puts him on the presidential path suggested by April 30's noodle-cooking "possible future" episode. "It's a bad day for the world," says Quinto. "I'm not going back to the watch shop anytime soon." The May 21 season capper will set up two big ideas for the second volume of Heroes, to be titled "Generations." The new saga will focus on putting the Heroes mythology in a grand historical context of superpowered family dynasties. "I know exactly where season 2 starts," says Oka. "It focuses on heritage, the family line, and the source of the powers." That means the "older" generation of heroes — including George Takei's Papa Nakamura and especially Cristine Rose's Mama Petrelli — should expect more screen time. [...] Then again, maybe it will: Instead of just a cheerleader or a city, "Volume 2: Generations" will concern a plot to save the entire planet. "All I know is that I'm going to be all over the world next year," says Sendhil Ramamurthy, whose nonpowered (or is he?) scientist Suresh will learn crucial info about his Indian past and his dead (or is she?) sister in the finale that helps set up next season. [...] Source: Entertainment Weekly

Zachary Quinto is rehearsing a scene in which Sylar confesses to his mother (Ellen Greene) that he has a nasty habit of murdering others of his freaky new ilk. (He spares her the part where he might be eating their brains, too.) Naturally, Mom is disappointed, so she grabs a knife and tries to gut him. The actors struggle — then they freeze. The physical universe has ground to a halt. It's Hiro time. Slipping into the scene, Masi Oka withdraws his sword from its sheath and prepares to bring it down on Quinto's head. Does the noble hero have the stones to decapitate a defenseless, time-paused soul, even one as nasty as Sylar? "I'm sorry," says Oka. Then, breaking character: "Don't worry. It's not sharp." Quinto, steely brown eyes unflinching, doesn't laugh. His response: "Bring it." Source: Entertainment Weekly

Five Years Gone: Recap and Ratings

Five years in the future Hiro and Ando enter Isaac's apartment and find an elaborate series of strings and pictures hanging from the ceiling. Hiro calls out for Isaac, but gets no answer. He hears the sound of a sword being unsheathed, investigates, and finds Future Hiro. Future Hiro tells him that he's not supposed to be here and tells Ando and him that the explosion still happened even though everything was supposed to change. He explains that 5 years ago Sylar exploded in New York City and changed the world. Ando asks about the strings and pictures hanging from the ceiling and Future Hiro explains that it's a map that he's been working on for years of the events that led up to the explosion. He explains that he used it to find the precise point in time to travel to in order to change the future and prevent the explosion. He mentions saving the cheerleader and Hiro tells him that Peter did indeed save the cheerleader. Future Hiro asks Hiro if he was able to kill Sylar now that he doesn't have Claire's power, but Hiro tells him he hasn't killed Sylar. Future Hiro tells Hiro that he needs to return him to his time and that on the day of the explosion he needs to kill Sylar. Future Hiro shows how Hiro and Sylar's strings cross on the day after the election. Future Hiro explains that on that day he stabbed Sylar, but Sylar regenerated using the ability he originally stole from Claire. Concerned, Hiro tells Future Hiro that he can't control his powers, and if he tries to use them he could end up anywhere. Suddenly an armed team breaks into Isaac's apartment and one of them, The Haitian, seizes Hiro. Ando manages to escape along with Future Hiro. Subsequently Matt Parkman enters and recognizes Hiro. He tells the others to go after Hiro's friends. Future Hiro explains that the armed team was from Homeland Security and that they're taking Hiro to a holding facility with other terrorists. Ando asks why they'd think Hiro was a terrorist and then realizes that it's because of Future Hiro. Future Hiro explains that after the explosion the world became a dark place and that they need to get Hiro back so he can kill Sylar in the past. When Ando suggests that Future Hiro freeze time and teleport, Future Hiro explains that The Haitian is able to stop his powers. He tells Ando that there's only one person who can help them get Hiro: Peter Petrelli.

Future Hiro and Ando enter an exotic dancer bar in Las Vegas. Ando asks if they're going to find Peter here and Future Hiro tells him that his girlfriend is here. They take a seat and watch as a dancer named Jessica, which is actually Niki, walks out on stage. Ando recognizes her and gets excited. Niki notices Future Hiro and is displeased. Irritated, she meets them at a booth and tells them she'll give them a few minutes and then they need to leave. Future Hiro tells Niki that he needs to find Peter, but Niki tells him that the war's over and that Peter isn't interested in helping him. Future Hiro tells Niki that he's trying to stop Sylar. Niki tells him not to mention Sylar again or she'll break his neck. As she walks away, Future Hiro asks her if she knows where Bennet is. She tells him that she believes he's still in Texas. Niki takes a seat at the bar and has a drink. A drink slides down the table next to Niki and then Peter fades into visibility sitting next to her. He asks Niki what Future Hiro wanted and she explains that he's still trying to stop Sylar. Peter remarks that Sylar is dead. She tells him that she sent him off to Mr. Bennet and that he can deal with them. They watch memorial footage from the day of the explosion. Niki claims that there isn't anything special about the day, but Peter says she lost her son. She claims that she's trying to let go and that he should try it unless he'd rather go with Future Hiro and fight instead. He tells Niki that he's not going anywhere and kisses her.

At the Homeland Security holding facility, Hiro tries to explain that this is just a misunderstanding. Matt reads off Hiro's file which includes incidents of prison breaks and attacks against US interests. He tells Hiro that Hiro killed a lot of men two years ago when he attacked the National Science Center in Raleigh. Hiro tells Matt that he knows himself and that he's not a killer. Matt read's Hiro's thoughts and asks how come he doesn't remember the attack. Matt tells Hiro that people like him and Sylar ruined things for everyone else with special abilities by being a threat. He reads Hiro's mind again and tells him that he doesn't know what Hiro is hiding, but he'll find out.

Matt speaks to Nathan over the phone and tells him that they caught Hiro. Nathan claims that they've been after him for years and doesn't think it's a coincidence that they caught him just before the anniversary of the explosion. Nathan suspects Hiro is up to something and tells Matt to find out what. Matt explains that Hiro doesn't appear to remember anything from the past 5 years. Nathan reminds Matt that he's a mind-reader and tells him to "rip it out of him."
In The White House, Nathan calls for Mohinder over the intercom. Mohinder enters the office and Nathan tells him that they've captured Hiro. Nathan tells Mohinder that they're running into some problems and tells Mohinder that he's the only one he trusts. Mohinder tells him that he'll take the first flight to New York. Nathan tells Mohinder that they allowed a man to blow up New York 5 years ago and that afterwards they made a vow to eliminate the danger of another such event at any cost. Nathan reminds Mohinder that billions in research have been spent and asks how close they are to achieving that vow. Mohinder explains that very little progress has been made and that the genetic anomalies are hardcoded in the DNA of people with special abilities so it can't be changed. Nathan asks if they've failed and Mohinder begins to discuss the alternate measures that have been put into place to mitigate the danger, but Nathan tells him that they're not working, their population is increasing, and their attacks are continuing. Nathan tells Mohinder about a report from the other day where a boy in Santa Cruz sucked the oxygen out of the air and suffocated his entire middle school. He tells Mohinder that the number of incidents is increasing and that people are expecting another "Sylar." He points out to Mohinder that in his initial report that Mohinder mentioned another potential solution: extinction. Mohinder explains that he was talking about extinction as part of nature, but that what Nathan's referring to is genocide. Nathan claims that they're running out of options and that they need to put and end to the threat. Mohinder reminds Nathan that he's an evolved human as well. Nathan thanks him for keeping his ability a secret, but admits that being able to fly is hardly a threat. He asks Mohinder if he was given even 20 more years if he would be able to reverse the anomalies causing these abilities. Mohinder admits that he probably couldn't and Nathan tells him that they need to think about "plan B".

Back at the holding facility, Matt continues punching Hiro and asking him what he's planning. Hiro asks Matt why he wants to hurt "special" people if he's "special", too. Matt gets a call on his phone about Mohinder and leaves telling The Haitian to watch Hiro.
In Isaac's apartment, Mohinder examines the time map.

At Primatech Paper Company Mr. Bennet performs a blood test on a boy while telling him and his parents that if the test pad turns red then he's "one of them" and will be arrested, but that if it turns blue he'll be free to go. He presses his finger onto the pad and it turns red. Hana gives the family a document with new identities as well as samples of blood that can be used to fool the tests. She escorts the family out and Mr. Bennet tells the father to do whatever it takes to protect the boy. Future Hiro and Ando appear outside. Mr. Bennet hands a list of people back to Future Hiro and tells him that people come to him to help stay hidden and that Future Hiro is asking him to do the opposite. Future Hiro explains that he needs their help to get into the Homeland Security holding facility and that he's only asking for the people he brought to Mr. Bennet himself. Mr. Bennet tells Future Hiro that he can't help him. As Mr. Bennet is about to leave Ando tells him that Hiro saved his daughter's life. Future Hiro explains that 5 years ago he asked Peter to save Claire from Sylar at homecoming. He takes the list from Future Hiro and tells them he'll see what he can do.

In Isaac's apartment, Mohinder explains the time map to Matt and tells him it's a living map of the past. Matt asks why a terrorist would care about the past and Mohinder says that in theory Hiro can fold time as well as space and may think he can change the past. Mohinder asks if Matt ever wished he could change the past. He replies that wishing and making something happen are completely different, but Mohinder tells him that it might not be for Hiro. Looking at the map Mohinder finds that the day of the explosion and the day that he received his father's ashes both seem to be focal points. He remembers that it was the same day that he was with Peter when Peter claimed that he saw a man who could freeze time. He tells Matt that Future Hiro had a message for Peter on that day: Save the cheerleader, save the world.

At the Burnt Toast Diner, Claire serves two people their food. Claire hears the television mention the president and stops to watch the video of Nathan. A man walks up to her, addresses her as Sandra, and tells her that she perks up whenever the president is on television despite claiming to hate him. He tells her that it might make a guy jealous. Claire tells him that Nathan is old enough to be her father. He asks her what she thought of the place they're planning to hold their wedding reception, but she tells him that she forgot to check it out. He expresses concern that she might be having second thoughts about the wedding, but she allays his fears and he kisses her. He tells Claire that the "creepy guy with glasses" is back sitting in Claire's section. Claire looks and sees Mr. Bennet. Claire and Mr. Bennet feign conversation so as to not draw suspicion and then he tells Claire that someone knows about her, it's no longer safe, and that she needs to pick up and leave again. She asks what she's supposed to tell her fiance Andy and Mr. Bennet tells her to say nothing to him. She tells Mr. Bennet that they're getting married and that she just wants a normal life. He explains that he's trying to provide her a normal life, but it's not safe there anymore. He looks at the television and sees a news report claiming that 200 undocumented people have been arrested including the people he helped earlier. The news claims that this was the most successful operation since the Linderman Act was passed 4 years ago.

Future Hiro explains how several of the people on his list would be able to help them get inside the holding facility. Ando asks where he is in the future and whether he became rich and famous, but Future Hiro says he can't tell him. He stands up and tells Ando there's something he needs to tell him. Suddenly he is shot by Matt with a taser and knocked out. Ando is seized by an officer. Matt examines Future Hiro remarks that they already caught him. He realizes that there are indeed two Hiros and that he actually can travel through time. Suddenly Peter fades into visibility running into the room. He telekinetically throws one officer into the air. As the officers draw their weapons Peter concentrates and stops time. He grabs Future Hiro's sword and glares at Matt momentarily. Touching Ando and Future Hiro he teleports them away. When time resumes, the officer in the air hits the floor and then looks around for Peter. Finding the suspects gone, Matt gets frustrated.

Mr. Bennet returns to Primatech Paper to find the office disheveled. Matt tells Mr. Bennet that his friends got away, but Mr. Bennet tells him that if they were his friends he wouldn't have called Matt. Mr. Bennet reiterates the deal that they have where he'll help Matt find the dangerous refugees as long as Matt lets him help the harmless ones. Matt tells him that they both have children with abilities, but that his isn't the president's daughter. He asks Mr. Bennet if he's heard from Janice and he gives Matt a drawing his son made and tells him he did the right thing. Mr. Bennet finds Hana on the floor shot in the head. Matt grabs Mr. Bennet, pushes him down on the desk, and tells him that he's terminating their agreement. He explains that he's got to tell the president that there are two Hiros and that one of them got away, so he wants to know where Claire is so he can bring her to him. He reads Mr. Bennet's thoughts and gets his answer before shooting Mr. Bennet.

At the Burnt Toast Diner, Claire tells Andy that she wants to elope. He tells her that she's crazy and she tells him she has her reasons. She asks if he'll do it and he tells her that he'll do anything for her. She offers all the patrons more coffee and asks the final one if he'd like to order. It turns out to be Matt who alarms Claire by addressing her by her real name.

At the holding facility Mohinder asks Hiro what is meant by "Save the cheerleader, save the world." He tells Hiro that 5 years ago he was on a subway with Peter and that someone stopped time. He explains that they were on their way to see Isaac Mendez and shows Hiro one of the new 9th Wonders! comics Isaac drew. He tells Hiro that the events he drew were very accurate, except that the events in the latest comic didn't unfold as Isaac predicted. Hiro sees a frame in the comic showing him stabbing Sylar with his sword. Mohinder asks Hiro if he's trying to change the past and kill Sylar. Hiro asks him if he could save millions of lives, wouldn't he do it, too?

Peter asks Ando if it's really him. When Ando asks why he's surprised to see him, Peter explains that in the past Ando died in the explosion. He tells Ando that Hiro's change in behavior began the day he died and that he believes that Future Hiro's obsession with changing history is because he wants to save Ando. Niki arrives, sees them all together, and leaves in protest.
In Isaac's apartment Mohinder explains to Nathan that Hiro is trying to kill Sylar before he explodes. He tells Nathan that without Sylar the world would never have considered people with abilities to be dangerous and the past would be changed. He cuts the string representing Sylar and all the other strings fall to the ground. Nathan tells him that he needs answers now and can't rely on someone changing the past. Mohinder tells Nathan that genocide is wrong. Nathan tells him that he was elected to make hard decisions and that he's going to lie and announce that they have developed a treatment to cure the genetic anomalies. He explains that once people start dying they'll be united in grief, and then just united. He asks Mohinder if he can trust him and Mohinder tells him that he is. Matt enters and tells Nathan that there are two Hiros and that they have the younger one. Matt tells him that he wants to kill Hiro, but Nathan tells Mohinder to do it instead. He also tells Nathan that he found Claire.

In the Petrelli Mansion, Claire looks at some photos on the mantle. Nathan arrives and tells her that he thought she was dead and that she has no idea how important she is to him. She blames Nathan for making everyone afraid of people with abilities. Nathan claims that he simply made everyone aware of them and that fear is a natural response. He tells her that evolved humans are more powerful and more important and that they're "special." She asks him who he is to say who's special and who's not. He grabs her by the arm and tells her that he's the president and that for all he knows he's the most special person there is. He tells her that he's found enough power and met a lot of special people such as Candace who he claims allowed him to become president. He tells her that he's done and just wants to eliminate the competition. He tells her that he doesn't need any more power especially after her. She turns and leaves, but Nathan raises his hand and stops her telekinetically. He slices her head open telekinetically and Claire manages to utter the name 'Sylar'. Sylar drops his illusion revealing that he's been impersonating Nathan the whole time. He tells her he's waited a long time for this.

Future Hiro regains consciousness and talks to Ando. Ando tells Future Hiro that he became everything he wanted, however all that happened to Ando was that he died. Future Hiro tells Ando that he fought many battles, but they weren't as fun without him.

Niki asks Peter if he remembers his promise and asks why he can't just let the past go. Peter accuses Niki of being the one who can't let go since she gets on stage every night calling herself Jessica. He tells her that she can look into the mirror, but nobody is looking back at her and that Jessica, D.L. and Micah are all gone. She tells him that Jessica was right when she said she should only look after herself. Peter tells her that she's wrong, but Niki asks why he's in a hurry to leave her. He tells her he's not leaving and that he'll be back, but that he has his reasons for helping Future Hiro. Niki pushes Peter for an answer and Peter reveals that it was actually he that exploded in New York killing everyone and that Nathan lied to protect him. Niki tells him that if he walks out the door he shouldn't come back. Peter leaves anyway and tells Future Hiro that they need to go fix things.

At a memorial celebration in New York, Nathan gives a commemoration speech. Inside the holding facility the security guards are watching the speech when they suddenly notice Peter, Future Hiro, and Ando standing in front of them. The guards set off an alarm and draw their weapons while backing away. A number of armed officers take positions and aim at them. Future Hiro asks Peter if they should freeze time, but Peter suggests they don't and tells him that he hasn't had a good fight in years. Hiro draws his sword and Peter runs off while leaving Ando standing alone. As Nathan continues his speech, Peter and Future Hiro eliminate the guards one by one. Future Hiro explains that The Haitian is upstairs and will block their powers so they need to take him out. Ando tells them that the guards will be waiting upstairs with guns. Upstairs, a team of armed officers take up a position guarding the elevator door. Matt gives them orders to shoot on sight. As Nathan announces that a treatment has been discovered that will reverse the genetic code, The Haitian is preparing Hiro to be executed while Mohinder is preparing a syringe. Future Hiro enters the elevator. Mohinder approaches Hiro with the syringe. The elevator arrives upstairs and opens, but no one is inside. Hiro pleads for his life and tells Mohinder that he needs to go back to stop the explosion. Mohinder says he's sorry and then injects The Haitian with the syringe instead. Mohinder helps Hiro escape. Hiro asks why he's helping him and Mohinder tells him that he believes he's supposed to and shows Hiro part of the new 9th Wonders! comic. Mohinder tells Hiro he'll take him to safety. He opens a door and finds Future Hiro outside. Future Hiro places his sword at Mohinder's neck, but Hiro tells him that he's a good guy and not to kill him. Peter follows and is attacked briefly by an officer before throwing him against the wall forcefully. Ando follows and reunites with Hiro. Future Hiro tells him he needs to go back now, but Hiro explains that he can't control his power. Future Hiro offers to take him back, but is suddenly shot in the back twice by Matt. Peter telekinetically closes the door keeping Matt out. Matt has a team of officers prepare to break down the door as he makes a call to Nathan who is still at the memorial celebration. Matt tells Nathan that The Haitian is dead and that they can't get to Hiro because Peter is keeping them out. Nathan hangs up the phone, jumps into the air, and flies off. Before Future Hiro dies, he gives Ando a few pages from a comic. Ando tells Hiro that they need to get out of there, but Hiro is stunned watching Future Hiro die. Peter is standing by the door, but Nathan phases his hand through the door and pulls him through. He tells Matt to get into the room and end this. Nathan turns to Peter and Peter says that his brother can't walk through walls and asks who he is. Sylar drops the illusion and tells him he's an old friend. Peter tells Sylar that he's going to pay for what he did to Nathan and what he did using Nathan's name. Sylar's hand starts glowing blue, manifesting his cryokinetic powers, as he tells Peter that Nathan had already turned against his own kind when he killed him. Peter calls him a liar and creates fire in his hands. Peter and Sylar battle outside while Ando convinces Hiro that he has the ability to get them out of there. Mohinder tries to hold the door shut, but the energy of the battle outside is almost too much. Hiro concentrates and manages to teleport back to the present. He looks at the comic showing him killing Sylar and says, "Now the hard part" before pushing his glasses up.

Trivia
The Oval Office set was the same one used from The West Wing.
While we find out what happens to many of the Heroes, Mr. Linderman is curiously absent from this episode.
Over your acid trip guys? Damn!
Now for the numbers. The good news is that we won again....kinda, depspit the thriple teaming of ABC's Dancing with the (alleged) Stars, Fox's 24, and CBS's Monday sitcoms.
ABC supersized DWTS for 45 minues (they did have the decenecy to give us that last quarter-hour), leading the 9pm hour with a 12.3 rating and an 18 share. CBS posted 8.7/14 for Two and a Half Men and losing just a bit to 8.4/13 for King of Queens (is that thing still on???). Heroes posted for NBC a 7/10 for over all show (and a WIN in the 18-49 money demo), with Jack Bauer and Company checking in with a 6.5/10. The CW's Girlfriends and The Game and MyNetworkTV's IFL Battleground....well, they were just on.
