Banned from WallyWorld!

So many people have sent me grins, I am returning the favor!

After I retired, my wife insisted that I accompany her on her trips
to Wal-Mart. Unfortunately, like most men, I found shopping boring
and preferred to get in and get out. Equally unfortunately, my wife
is like most women - she loved to browse.

Yesterday, my dear wife received the following letter from the local
Wal-Mart:

Dear Mrs. Samsel,

Over the past six months, your husband has been causing quite a
commotion in our store. We cannot tolerate this behavior and have
been forced to ban both of you from the store. Our complaints
against
Mr. Samsel are listed below and are documented by our video
surveillance cameras.

1. June 15: Took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in
people's carts when they weren't looking.

2 . July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-
minute intervals.

3. July 7: Made a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the
women's restroom.

4. July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official
voice, 'Code 3 in Housewares. Get on it right away. '

5. August 4: Went to the Service Desk and tried to put a bag of
M&M's
on layaway.

6. August 14: Moved a 'CAUTION - WET FLOOR' sign to a carpeted area.

7. August 15: Set up a tent in the camping department and told other
shoppers he'd invite them in if they would bring pillows and
blankets
from the bedding department.

8. August 23: When a clerk asked if they could help him, he began
crying and screamed, 'Why can't you people just leave me alone?'

9. September 4: Looked right into the security camera and used it as
a mirror while he picked his nose.

10. September 10: While handling guns in the hunting department, he
asked the clerk where the antidepressants were.

11. October 3: Darted around the store suspiciously while loudly
humming the 'Mission Impossible' theme.

12. October 6: In the auto department, he practiced his 'Madonna
look' by using different sizes of funnels.

13. October 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed
through, yelled 'PICK ME! PICK ME!'

14. October 21: When an announcement came over the loud speaker, he
assumed a fetal position and screamed 'OH NO! IT'S THOSE VOICES
AGAIN!'

And last, but not least,

15. October 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door, waited
awhile, then yelled very loudly, 'Hey! There's no toilet paper in
here!'

Yahoo to Mohinder: Die Already

Yahoo TV recently posted a photo feature called "WRITE 'EM OFF," saying....quote....

"The world of television characters and personalities is a complex one. There are those we adore, others we love to hate, and still those who shock us, surprise us, and keep us coming back for more week after week. But there's another troublesome category -- made up of both fictional characters and all-too-real reality buffoons -- who just seem to suck the life out of what is otherwise a perfectly pleasing show. Whether they're annoying, a complete snooze-fest, or simply too self-absorbed to sit through, they've got one thing in common: They've got to go. Click through this slideshow to see our list of the top five TV faces we'd write off if only we could."

Well guess who was on the third position on that list:

"There are a million things we'd like to get rid of on HEROES (Can this show ever get back to its Season 1 glory days?), but let's start with the obvious, most-glaring: Mohinder Suresh. For a supposedly intelligent scientist, Mohinder has done the dumbest things. He's indecisive, and what's worse is that he's clueless when he finally does make those critical decisions. His idiotic actions make no sense and have turned him into an irritating character. Just hearing his voice with its fake accent annoys us, and it doesn't help that he narrates the opening and closing of each episode. It seems that no one ever dies on "Heroes," but if they ever do, the first to go should be Mohinder."

Well, the numbers didn't go down....

CBS’s “How I Met Your Mother” is on a roll. For the second straight week, the sitcom set a season high among households and adults 18-49, even managing to tie ABC smash “Dancing with the Stars” in its timeslot in the latter.

“Mother” averaged a 4.3 in 18-49s, according to Nielsen overnights, up 0.1 over last week’s previous season high. It was also up a tick in households, to a 6.0 rating.

That came against tough competition in the 8:30 p.m. timeslot from ABC’s “Stars.” Though the reality show thumped “Mother” among total viewers, doubling the latter’s 9.8 million, the two tied among 18-49s for leadership in the slot.

That helped CBS to yet another easy Monday night victory in this third week of sweeps.

As a reminder, all ratings are based on live-plus-same-day DVR playback. Seven-day DVR data won’t be available for several weeks. Twenty-eight percent of Nielsen households have DVRs.

CBS led the night among 18-49s with a 4.1 average overnight rating and a 10 share. ABC was second at 3.4/8, NBC third at 2.7/7, Fox fourth at 2.1/5, Univision fifth at 1.7/4 and CW sixth at 1.4/3. The latter did manage a 10th straight Monday victory among its target women 18-34, however.

At 8 p.m. ABC was first with a 4.2 among 18-49s for “Dancing with the Stars,” followed by CBS with a 4.0 for “The Big Bang Theory” (3.7) and “Mother” (4.3). NBC was third with a 2.6 for “Chuck,” Fox fourth with a 2.0 for “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” Univision fifth with a 1.7 for “Cuidado con el Angel” and CW sixth with a 1.4 for “Gossip Girl.”

CBS took the lead at 9 p.m. with a 4.2 for “Two and a Half Men” (5.3) and “Worst Week” (3.2), while ABC slid to second with a 3.8 for the end of “Stars” (4.6) and “Samantha Who?” (3.0). NBC was third with a 3.6 for “Heroes,” tying a series low, with Fox fourth with a 2.3 for “Prison Break,” Univision fifth with a 1.9 for “Fuego en la Sangre” and CW sixth with a 1.3 for “One Tree Hill.”

At 10 p.m. CBS led again with a 4.2 for “CSI: Miami,” with ABC second with a 2.2 for “Boston Legal.” NBC was third with a 1.9 for “My Own Worst Enemy” and Univision fourth with a 1.5 for “Cristina.”

Analysis: With a 3.6, Heroes STILL leads in the last half hour with "Worst" second, "Samantha" third, "Break" fourth, "Fuego" fifth, and "Hill" barley holding on at 6th.

Just saying....if Heroes was on at 10, it would not beat, but would be competitive with "CSI:M" in a solid second, with "Boston" 3rd (George Takai should do a cameo on that night, just for the pleasure of kicking Shat's ass for all he said after Sulu's wedding!), and "Christina" 4th.

Among households, ABC was first for the night with a 9.4 average overnight rating and a 14 share. CBS was second at 8.0/12, NBC third at 3.7/6, Fox fourth at 3.5/5, Univision fifth at 2.3/3 and CW sixth at 2.0/3.

Sit down for this one, gang...

According to ODI, A MAJOR character may not be long for this world...

Yes I know many of you are still reeling from the news of two of the more popular writers leaving the show, but one of the common complaints across the board from fans and critics has been that there are too many characters and that they need to kill some off.

Well over the weekend we received some unconfirmed information that Masi Oka's character Hiro might be killed off the show before the end of the season!?

Now before you panic please continue reading, I do love Masi Oka and would hate to see him leave. Besides him being a fan favorite he is a great actor and is one of the core characters of the show. Unfortunately one common "complaint" by some fans has been Hiro's ability to teleport/time travel. Any time something bad happens on the show, fans are quick to say things like, "why can't Hiro go back and change the past or teleport here or there!?"

Time travel in TV or Movies is rarely done right so whenever it used in a story line I just sit back, watch and do not question what the writers are doing. Yes there are some basic rules and principles that have to followed, but the key is, the writer needs to make sure the viewers are aware of those rules so we do not question what can or can not be done. For example, with Hiro he now has a "moral code" that says he will not go back in time because he knows it can F up the future.

If the writers were to take such a bold step to kill off a fan favorite, well maybe they will be able to shore up the story and close some of those potential plot holes that can be created with time travel!?

NOTE: With production of Volume 4 already in the process, do not expect something like this to happen until much later in the season.

Like I said, we have not been able to confirm this information from our other sources, but we will keep you updated on any additional information we get.

UPDATE: Apparently Heroes creator Tim Kring confirmed something like this will INDEED happen before the end of season. Here is his quote, which he made at the Legacy Awards over the weekend:

"Someone you have come to know will not make it to the end of the season."
(From Watching Heroes)

What do you all think!? Would this be a good move!? Would NBC allow one of the "faces" of the show be killed off!? By the way, even if he was killed, would he be off the show for good!? Could this be a part of the "creative differences" between the writers of the show!?

http://heroesspoilers-odi.blogspot.com/2008/11/rumor-of-upcoming-main-character-death.html

Official Statements from Loeb and Alexander

As reported yesterday here and every where else, Writer/Producers Jesse Alexander and Jeph Loeb left the show for "creative differences". What some are reporting is that it means they were fired.

Here are the official statements by both writers and there is not much, but what I expected that both would say thanks and wish the cast and the rest of the writers the best.

From Loeb:

“As of today, Jesse Alexander and I have left Heroes. I’m incredibly proud to have been a big part of the success a show with eight Emmy nods and a win this year for NBC.com. I will miss the superb cast and writing staff and wish everyone the best.”

Via CBR

From Alexander:

"I write this with a heavy heart. As of today I am no longer a writer/producer on HEROES. I could not be prouder of all the work I did on the show and wish all my Heroic Scribbler pals the very best. I will certainly continue to blog at GLOBAL COUCH."

Via Alexander's Blog

Once again I am not sure if this is the move the show needed right now because Alexander and Loeb were the creative minds connected to the comic book world. I personally felt the show was making a positive move in the story. Unfortunately it always comes down to ratings and money and perhaps now fans realize that these two things can not be ignored.

So what do you all think a day later...!? Still feel the same?? Better or worse??

http://heroesspoilers-odi.blogspot.com/2008/11/official-statements-from-alexander-and.html

No Heroes Tonight.

Just a reminder that there will be no Heroes episode tonight. NBC is running "Deal or No Deal" and an SNL special.

If it were up to me, I would simply put "DOND" back on Mons. @ 8, followed by Our Favorite Show. That should solve some of the audience problem.

Anyway...back next week,

io9: Loeb, Alexander Out at Heroes

Heads are rolling over at NBC's super-powered mutant series Heroes — and it's no wonder. Just about every critic has taken aim at the storyline gridlock this season, including a stinging critique on the cover of Entertainment Weekly. It was only a matter of time until NBC started trimming the fat, but can this drastic move save Heroes?

According to the trades both executive producers/writers Jeph Loeb and Jesse Alexander were fired due to:

The execs' frustration with the creative direction of the show. The show is also said to have been grappling with hefty budget overruns this season, that are going well beyond its already sizable $4 million per-seg pricetag.

While it's sad to see Loeb (the only writer with any comic-book cred) exit the NBC doors, I have to say this was probably for the best. Let us not forget the creative direction Sylar (the once bad ass villain has taken), the many tacked-on characters and the bazillion ho-hum plot lines.

Now who should they get to replace them, besides all the J.J. Abrams people who are busy writing Lost, Fringe and StarTrek 2? (Just guessing on that last one). Actually, I think Steven S. DeKnight (Buffy, Angel, Smallville) is available, having just left the staff of Joss Whedon's Dollhouse.
