Well, the numbers didn't go down....

CBS’s “How I Met Your Mother” is on a roll. For the second straight week, the sitcom set a season high among households and adults 18-49, even managing to tie ABC smash “Dancing with the Stars” in its timeslot in the latter.

“Mother” averaged a 4.3 in 18-49s, according to Nielsen overnights, up 0.1 over last week’s previous season high. It was also up a tick in households, to a 6.0 rating.

That came against tough competition in the 8:30 p.m. timeslot from ABC’s “Stars.” Though the reality show thumped “Mother” among total viewers, doubling the latter’s 9.8 million, the two tied among 18-49s for leadership in the slot.

That helped CBS to yet another easy Monday night victory in this third week of sweeps.

As a reminder, all ratings are based on live-plus-same-day DVR playback. Seven-day DVR data won’t be available for several weeks. Twenty-eight percent of Nielsen households have DVRs.

CBS led the night among 18-49s with a 4.1 average overnight rating and a 10 share. ABC was second at 3.4/8, NBC third at 2.7/7, Fox fourth at 2.1/5, Univision fifth at 1.7/4 and CW sixth at 1.4/3. The latter did manage a 10th straight Monday victory among its target women 18-34, however.

At 8 p.m. ABC was first with a 4.2 among 18-49s for “Dancing with the Stars,” followed by CBS with a 4.0 for “The Big Bang Theory” (3.7) and “Mother” (4.3). NBC was third with a 2.6 for “Chuck,” Fox fourth with a 2.0 for “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” Univision fifth with a 1.7 for “Cuidado con el Angel” and CW sixth with a 1.4 for “Gossip Girl.”

CBS took the lead at 9 p.m. with a 4.2 for “Two and a Half Men” (5.3) and “Worst Week” (3.2), while ABC slid to second with a 3.8 for the end of “Stars” (4.6) and “Samantha Who?” (3.0). NBC was third with a 3.6 for “Heroes,” tying a series low, with Fox fourth with a 2.3 for “Prison Break,” Univision fifth with a 1.9 for “Fuego en la Sangre” and CW sixth with a 1.3 for “One Tree Hill.”

At 10 p.m. CBS led again with a 4.2 for “CSI: Miami,” with ABC second with a 2.2 for “Boston Legal.” NBC was third with a 1.9 for “My Own Worst Enemy” and Univision fourth with a 1.5 for “Cristina.”

Analysis: With a 3.6, Heroes STILL leads in the last half hour with "Worst" second, "Samantha" third, "Break" fourth, "Fuego" fifth, and "Hill" barley holding on at 6th.

Just saying....if Heroes was on at 10, it would not beat, but would be competitive with "CSI:M" in a solid second, with "Boston" 3rd (George Takai should do a cameo on that night, just for the pleasure of kicking Shat's ass for all he said after Sulu's wedding!), and "Christina" 4th.

Among households, ABC was first for the night with a 9.4 average overnight rating and a 14 share. CBS was second at 8.0/12, NBC third at 3.7/6, Fox fourth at 3.5/5, Univision fifth at 2.3/3 and CW sixth at 2.0/3.
